Afrocentric Fashion!

Gone are the days of plain colours and common names, African Fashion has become mainstream and is definitely here to stay. I am amazed by some of the concept and designs that these talented designers are coming up with. Designers such as Deola Sagoe, Tiffany Amber, Jewel by Lisa, Maze Couture etc are causing a storm both in Africa and worldwide. What intrigues me is the colours and the contemporary look that these designers add to each garment. The way they merge African concepts with westernised style gives me true satisfaction and faith that Afrocentric fashion is here to stay.

Now you have a chance to celebrate and encourage more up and coming designers at African Fashion Week taking place on the 5th-6th August 2011, "Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL)" is an annual event involving two days of free fashion festivity, an extravagant fusion of African culture, fashion, style and music. Celebrating London's unique and diverse culture heritage, topped with flamboyant mixing of Western and African culture through fashion".

Be part of someones history I sure will!
